Jesse Izak: Inspired by Mexico

25 Feb

Jesse Izak visited Mexico for the first time at the age of eight. He has continued his journeys here, which has become a source of artistic and personal inspiration. Jess lived in Isla Mujeres for a year and a half. During his stay in this vibrant fishing village, he was seduced daily by the inviting colors of the Caribbean. Its impact literally forced Jess to finally put his visions of Mexico onto paper. The result has been an ongoing collection of bold images depicting the many facets of this country, from small coastal towns to picturesque colonial villages.

Using a combination of two mediums, watercolors and oil pastel, Jess Izak has created a technique that captures the warmth, depth and playfulness of Mexico. His art has been shown and is showing throughout Mexico. He has also worked on many commissioned pieces portraying homes, cars, gardens and favorite locations for tourists and residents. Jess Izak, born and raised in New York, went to the School of Visual Arts, in Manhattan where he majored in Conceptual Sculpture.

24 Feb

Tomas Burkey, a Chilean-American, was raised with influences from both ends of America, where he studied and researched the Ancestral Memory of the continents. His powerful lines and defined colors stand out within works of art which are original in format, while retaining a graceful balance of content and energy. Bürkey’s work reveals the sleeping soul of the Earth, combining sound and form and creating a bridge to the distant past, thus returning a certain ancient magic to us through work imbued with hidden spaces, light and mystery.
